Recommendations from siblings of children with life limiting conditions
The project set out to engage siblings of those experiencing life-limiting/life-threatening conditions (LLTCs) in philosophical dialogue about wellbeing and care. It was designed to generate understanding of siblings’ perspectives on wellbeing and care to provide recommendations on the future of healthcare from this unheard group. The group was targeted as it is over-looked and under-represented in the current research and practice fields, and offered a route to future dialogues with those directly experiencing LLTCs. The project involved a group of seven children aged between seven and twelve throughout, and takes a rights-based approach, not least in ensuring children’s voices are heard.

The children involved in this film chose their own names for the project.
This is a research project by the University of Strathclyde in partnership with Kings College London and CHAS (Children's Hospices Across Scotland). This project was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, part of UK Research and Innovation.
The researchers on the project are Claire Cassidy (University of Strathclyde); Lorna Fraser (King's College London); and Anna Robinson (University of Strathclyde).
